so beautiful. i think these might be my favorite animals. i sure love giraffes but there is something so gigantic and gentle about elephants. their eyes look so sweet and kind.

“i am only as strong as the coffee i drink and the hairspray i use.”

saw this on the supply cart of a hairdresser in the beauty salon last week and fell in love with it.

i’ve been drinking coffee since college and it’s probably not that strong but it’s still delicious and necessary to my consciousness almost every morning.

but the hairspray thing is new and i’ll tell you it’s pretty strong. with a new job that focuses quite a bit on hair, makeup, and clothing, i’ve had some adjusting to do. i’ve never been critiqued quite like that before so i was scrambling in my mind for some solid ground. but it’s actually been, dare i say it, kind of fun coming out on the other side. i’ve loved being evem more girly, getting in touch even more with that side of my personality - the very high maintenance, high volume, long-lashed, bright lip-sticked chick i know must’ve been in there all along.

i’ve decided all over again that being a girl is REALLY fun. feeling beautiful or glamorous can be very liberating.
